| The Half Chicken Special is an offshoot of The Special 20s. The Special 20s have grown into a bigger band and I need something different to keep things fresh and play smaller shows. It is really a smaller combo version of the band. I have been lucky enough to play with some of the best guitar players in America. The Half Chicken Special (Four pieces, get it…) will continue bringing the best blues, swing and rock n’ roll, with a little twist from 20s. Along with the great Special 20s’ guitar players, Shoji Naito and Jim St. Marie, I have had been joined by Dave Herrero, Dave Specter and Billy Flynn, in Chicago and Tommy Harkenrider and Joe Conde, out in California, Tjarko Jean in Austin, TX. Bass players Jimmy Sutton and Beau Sample. Bobby Trimble and Kenny Smith on drums. It is great to get together with these great players and see what happens. More great guitar players to come soon. Upcoming Half Chicken Shows We've got some fun ones coming up!!!! September 10th I will be playing at Chucksfest in Burbank at 4pm with Billy Flynn. We will be at Smoke Daddy that some night tearing it up. September 13th, the same combo will be at The Black Rock in Chicago for a swing and blues dance night that is open to the public. Come on out and get some!!!! |

Next Half Chicken Show.... July 23rd I will be joined by Dave Specter at Smoke Daddy in Chicago. This should be a really fun night. The backing band is Marty Binder and Ted Beranis. I condider them the best rhythm section in Chicago and they really give these shows the backbone they need. |

Bluesfest Closing Party June 12th. Chicago Blues Fest closing party at Smoke Daddy in Wicker Park. Billy Flynn, Bob Corritorre, Ted Beranis and Marty Binder were the main band for this night. What a night we had. We were joined by Rick Estrin, Joe Filisko, Willie Buck, Dave Waldman, Deak Harp, Mojo Mark, Shoji Naito, Andrew Diehl and Jim St. Marie. On top of all of these guests that made the stage. The crowd was filled with so many other great musicians. There wasn't enough time to get everyone to play. What a thrill.... |
