Blues Revue Magazine Reviews "Swingin' shufflin' smokin'

“Swingin’ Shufflin’ Smokin’, the self-released sophomore effort from Morry Sochat & The Special 20s, continues the group’s evolution into one of the tightest and hippest bands on the Chicago scene – and one of the most traditional.  They understand there’s no need to tart up well executed Little Walter or Muddy Waters songs, and “Train Kept a Rollin”, powered by Sochat’s harp and Dave Ross’s piano, sounds utterly fresh.  Jim St. Marie (guitar) and the rhythm section of Kenny Smith and Ted Beranis play to perfection on the raucous, swinging “Dance Little Mama”, the toddling “I’m in Love”, and the insistent shuffle “Straighten Up Baby”.  Guitarist Shoji Naito’s low-riding groover “Humboldt Slide” and Sochat’s minor-key blues “Mean and Evil Ways” are dynamite.
